'Manjhi leaving Mahagathbandhan unfortunate but won't affect alliance'

The Congress leader refuted having any knowledge about Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) constituting a third alliance with NCP and Left parties.

New Delhi: Downplaying Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) of Jitan Ram Manjhi leaving the 'Mahagathbandhan', Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar Akhilesh Singh has said it was "unfortunate but won't affect the alliance".

Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, the former union minister said Manjhi complaining about coordination amongst the members was not true.

"Coordination was always there. We would speak to each other as and when required. There was no problem as far as coordination is concerned," he asserted, saying no coordination committee was required.

"Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) snapping ties with the 'Mahagathbandhan' (grand alliance) was unfortunate but it won't affect the alliance in any way," he said.

The Congress leader also refuted having any knowledge about Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) constituting a third alliance with NCP and Left parties.

"NCP and other secular parties are in talks with 'Mahagathbandhan', I don't think they would form any other alliance," he said.

Singh said Nitish Kumar won't be able to win more than 25 seats in case LJP decides to leave the NDA.
