Patna (Bihar):A major train accident was averted at Sadisopur railway station in Bihta. The train was going from Kamakhya to Lok Manya Tilak. The moving train split into two parts and seven bogies of the train were left behind which caused panic among the passengers. The train was, however, moving at a low speed.
As the frightened passengers started to shout out of panic, the alert driver stopped the train which averted a major accident that could have taken hundreds of lives.
Half the coaches of the train were left behind by about a kilometre.
However, none of the passengers was injured as the loco-pilot had stopped the train immediately after the bogies got decoupled.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the top officials and engineers of Danapur Railway Division reached the spot and train services were restored after two hours.
