New Delhi: Lok Janshakti Party spokesperson and Dalit leader Amar Azad has demanded Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's resignation over what he called the targeted violence and killings of Dalits in the state.
Highlighting the incident of violence in the state, Azad said that in Purnia, one LJP leader was killed while the houses of Dalits were set on fire and one man was beaten to death in Majhuwa village.
In Chapra, a Dalit was killed on Thursday for drinking water from a government handpump. He further said that a man named Ajit Paswan was murdered in Rohtas because he fell in love with a girl from an upper caste.
