Ranchi:The Jharkhand High Court will today hear former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s bail plea in the Rs 950-crore fodder scam.
Lalu Prasad's bail plea pertains to a case related to the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 33.67 crore from the Chaibasa treasury in 1992-93 during his tenure as the chief minister of Bihar.
Lalu, who has been in prison since December 2017, was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in 2018 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven years under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the fodder scam case.
Yadav is undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)
