Patna:Following senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi's claims that Lalu Prasad Yadav is trying to poach National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MLAs in Bihar, several MLAs have now come forward agreeing to the claim and divulging in details of the talks.
According to sources, the RJD supremo also called the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni and offered him the post of Deputy Chief Minister. It is being said that Lalu Yadav even threatened that four of his [Mukesh's] MLAs should support him or else not be present during the voting for the speaker's position.
BJP demands independent investigation
Reacting to the claims, Jharkhand BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash said that ever since the Grand Alliance government was formed in Jharkhand it has been very kind to RJD supremo Lalu Yadav.
They first shifted Lalu from jail to RIMS Hospital and now to the bungalow of the hospital's director.
Prakash also alleged that the Jharkhand government helps Lalu Yadav and stands firmly behind them [RJD].
Jharkhand BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash in talks with ETV Bharat "Even during the Bihar assembly elections, people who used to ask for tickets used to meet Lalu ji in the bungalow. We had raised this point before the state government, but it remained tight-lipped. Lalu is now trying to topple the NDA government in Bihar. People rejected him in Bihar elections and now even the NDA MLAs are rejecting him," Prakash said.
Demanding that Lalu be immediately put in the Hotwar jail, Prakash said that there should be a high-level, independent investigation into the matter. He said the investigation should be independent and not involve the jail IG.
