Patna:Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav will be back to active politics after the gap of four years when he would be addressing the party workers virtually on the occasion of RJD's silver jubilee foundation day on July 5 in Patna. The preparation for the foundation day is going on in full swing as hoardings and banners have been put up across every corner of the state capital. His younger son, who is leading the party in his absence Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is continuously holding meetings with the senior leaders to make the event grand.
For the past one week, Tejashwi has been holding meetings with the RJD legislators and leaders at the block and panchayat levels. It would be the first occasion for Lalu to address the party workers after getting bail in the fodder scam case earlier this year. Lalu's interaction with the party workers is seen as the comeback of the RJD supremo in active politics despite his bad health condition. Though Lalu had interacted with the RJD MLAs on May 9 through video conferencing that was only for a brief period. His virtual presence among the leaders of executive committees and leaders at the panchayat and block level will boost their morale.

The link of the virtual interaction would be sent to every party worker and even representatives of 26 other states would also be present during the virtual address. Ever since Lalu had been granted bail by Jharkhand High Court on April 30, he has been staying at the residence of his eldest daughter Misa Bharti in Delhi. Before that Lalu was admitted to the AIIMS, Delhi. RJD spokesperson Mirtunjay Tiwari said that every party worker and leader has been eagerly waiting for Lalu who is considered as 'God' of Rashtriya Janata Dal.
“We all were hoping that Laluji will be in Patna on the occasion of foundation day but as Tejashwi Ji had already said that his health is not in a good condition, he will address the worker virtually from Delhi. However, his virtual address is enough to energise the workers and his lakhs of supporters across India and Bihar in particular,” Tiwari said. Lalu is suffering from many diseases mainly kidney problems apart from other ailments like diabetes and cardiac issue.

“Lalu ji's health is not in good condition, earlier we thought that he will be able to come to Patna but it was a unanimous decision that he will address the party workers from Delhi itself through virtual mode," Tejashwi told media. Lalu had formed his party RJD on July 5, 1997, after he parted ways from Sharad Yadav's Janata Party. The split in the Janata Party had happened on the issue of corruption when Lalu's name had cropped up in a fodder scam case.
Much before Lalu's address, the ruling party leaders of both JDU and BJP have started issuing statements against him over his virtual interaction. The political observer opined that the ruling party has this apprehension that if Lalu will make a comeback then the road ahead for them would be really difficult.
Patna based political expert Dr Sanjay Kumar said, “He has a great calibre to warm up the supporters and workers. Lalu Ji has this gift of the gab and with his style, he can energise the dead crowd on any given day. Very few political leaders in the country can connect with the people and Lalu Ji is a master in that. He has his style of motivating and encouraging the workers. In the present scenario when all is not well in NDA, Lalu Ji can use such opportunities in the best way. He has great skill in defeating his rivals in such a political scenario. That's the reason why the NDA leaders are in the apprehension of some misfortune due to his advent.”

Dr Sanjay further said, “Lalu Ji will send a message to RJD workers that their party is the single largest party and NDA formed the government by misusing the administrative machinery. In this case, what Tejashwi is saying about the fall of the NDA government in two to three months is truly correct. Such statements of Lalu Prasad will further make the RJD supporters believe what Tejashwi is saying. Simultaneously, even Tejashwi morale will be boosted up. I am sure that Lalu Ji will also stress upon that RJD supporters need not wait for long and soon the party will form the government in Bihar. It will have a huge impact because Lalu's supporters trust him blindly."
Somewhere it's a fact that NDA is going through a tough phase in Bihar and more or less a crack is visible due to which the Nitish government is apprehending that Lalu is breaking the small parties like HAM and VIP. NDA leaders should be worried because Lalu is a master in striking the hammer when the iron is hot.
