Motihari (Bihar):Following the formation of the new government in Nepal, the officials of both countries have started talks for mutual reconciliation. A meeting of the Indo-Nepal Border District Coordination Committee was held in the auditorium of Radhakrishnan Bhavan, located in Motihari. The agenda of the meeting was Indo-Nepal border security.
The meeting was chaired by Motihari DM, Shirsat Kapil Ashok. The main agenda of this meeting was the encroachment of No Man's Land along with several other security issues. Both sides have mutually agreed to remove the encroachments at 10 places in the No Man's Land around Banjariya, Auraiya Ishnath Municipality, and Pillar No. 347, built by India.
Issues of smuggling, movement of criminals and maintaining the peace on the border were discussed in detail. Some complicated issues between the two countries were also discussed. In addition to regular bilateral communication and exchange of information, it was also mutually agreed to promote civic education for the citizens of the border areas.
