Four sanitation workers suffocate to death in Bihar

Four sanitation workers died while cleaning a septic tank at Muzaffarpur in Bihar. Further investigations are underway and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post mortem.

Muzaffarpur: At least four sanitation workers died after inhaling poisonous gases while cleaning a septic tank in Madhuban Kanti village of Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Tuesday.

According to reports, another worker, who went to rescue the trapped sanitation workers, is also in critical condition.

"My brother went into the tank to save my father. All four were members of the same family and they died of suffocation," said Sumit Kumar, son of the deceased.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) informed that the police have reached the spot and recovered the four bodies.

Further investigations are underway.
