Former village head shot at in Paliganj in Bihar

The gunmen appeared on a motorcycle and shot Sanjay Varma and grievously injured him before fleeing the scene. Varma was the former head of Enkha Bhimanichak Panchayat of Dulhin Bazar Block in Patna.

Patna:A former village head was shot at in Bihar's Paliganj city on Sunday around 5 a.m while he was on his morning walk.

The gunmen came on a motorcycle and shot Sanjay Varma before fleeing the scene. Varma was grievously injured in the attack.

Varma's family took him to Dulhin Bazar hospital where doctors referred him to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).

Varma was the former head of Enkha Bhimanichak Panchayat of Dulhin Bazar Block.

The police are investigating the matter.
