Purnia (Bihar): A film revolving around a scandal in a girl child home from Bihar, The Scotland, directed by Manish Vatsalai has been named in the Best Feature Film category for an Oscar award.
This is for the first year, that a film from Bihar has been nominated for the most prestigious cinema award. The film has so far bagged 62 international awards.
Meanwhile, the director, Manish holds high hopes for the film's succession at the awards.
The plot begins with the sexual assault of girl child in India. This plot eventually shifts to the father of a rape victim resorting to his own ways to bring justice to his daughter.
The film stars Adam Saini, Khushbu Purohit, Manish Vatsalay, Chetan Pandit and Daya Shankar Pandey in the lead roles.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, film director Manish said that it is a big deal for his film to be nominated. This selection is a source of pride for the Indian film fraternity.
