Father of 'cycle girl' Jyoti dies of heart attack

'Cycle girl' Jyoti Kumari's father Mohan Paswan passed away on Monday, May 31. He died of a heart attack. Jyoti made headlines after she cycled 1200 km from Gurugram to Darbhanga with her father during the first lockdown.

Jyoti, a class eight student, made headlines after she cycled 1200 kilometres from Gurugram to Darbhanga with her father. She covered the distance in six days. Jyoti's father used to run an e-rickshaw in Gurugram before the first wave of Covid-19 lockdown.

Her incredible feat was also tweeted by Ivanka Trump, daughter of former US President Donald Trump. The Cycle Federation of India also offered her trials at the state-of-the-art National Cycling Academy at the IGI Stadium complex. However, Jyoti refused the offer.
