Bihar man stabs children to death and injures wife

The children - three boys and a girl died at the scene of the attack in Siwan district. The attacker's wife and his fifth child were injured seriously. There is no word yet on the motive for the attack.

Siwan (Bihar): A man was arrested in Bihar after he fatally stabbed four of his children and critically injured his wife and a fifth child in Siwan district, police said on Tuesday.

Awadhesh Chaudhary from Balha Alimardanpur village attacked his family with a sharp object on Monday night, Bhagwanpur police station in-charge Vipin Singh said.

While four of the couple's children -- three sons and a daughter -- died on the spot the woman and their fifth child were critically injured. The reason behind the crime is still not known.

Singh said the injured were admitted to a local hospital for treatment, from where doctors referred them to Patna since they are in a critical condition.

The police officer said Chaudhary was being questioned.
