Darbhanga:Dam on the Khiroi river in Darbhanga collapsed due to the high speed of flood water, leading to more destruction in Bihar. The Darbhanga-Sitamarhi rail service was also interrupted due to the wreckage in the dam.
Railway officials have taken stock of the situation after the floods led to water-logging on the rail tracks.
Several villages have been hit by the wreckage. The water gushing from the dam has also damaged the bridge in the area.
Police officers have also reached the spot due to monitor the situation.
More than 24 people have died since the floods hit as many as 12 districts in Bihar, wherein more than 25,66,000 people have been affected.
According to information received from the Disaster Management Department on Monday, the 12 districts of Bihar are- Shivar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Eastern Champaran, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Supaul, Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia and Katihar.
