Dalai Lama arrives in Gaya on 14-day visit

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama visited Bihar's Gaya on Tuesday on his 14-day visit. He was received by DM Abhishek Singh and SSP Rajiv Mishra amidst tight security. As per the schedule, he will be staying in Bodh Gaya till January 7.

Gaya:Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, in the yellow robe, greeted devotees as he arrived on the 14-day visit in Bihar's Gaya on Tuesday.

It was a day of joy for Buddhists from across the country and foreign shores who have converged of His Holiness, who arrived at the Gaya International airport by a chartered flight.

The spiritual leader was received by DM Abhishek Singh and SSP Rajiv Mishra amidst tight security.

On his arrival at the Tibetan Monastery, the Dalai Lama blessed and greeted the faithful who gathered around to catch a glimpse of their spiritual leader.

Gaya District Magistrate Abhishek Kumar Singh said, "After Dharamshala, the Dalai Lama prefers to stay in Bodh Gaya. "

As per the schedule, he will be staying in Bodh Gaya till January 7.

He will rest for a few days after his arrival today.

Later, Dalai Lama will preach sermons at Kalachakra Maidan of Bodh Gaya to Buddhist monks for world peace between January 2 and 7.
