Covid patient raped by hospital staff dies in Bihar

The daughter of a 45-year-old woman has said her mother was raped by staff at a hospital in Patna while being treated for Covid-19. The hospital has denied the charge and the police have started an investigation.

Patna:A 45-year-old Covid-19 patient has died after she was raped by staff at a hospital in Bihar, reports said. The hospital in Patna has denied the report.

According to her family, the woman was admitted to a private hospital after she got infected with the virus. On Monday, when her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the ICU.

On Tuesday, when the woman's daughter reached the hospital, her mother narrated the horrific incident through sign language.

"Yesterday, when I entered the ICU ward, my mother told me that she had been raped by four hospital staff on Monday night," her daughter said.

However, when contacted the hospital authority, they denied any such incident in the ICU ward.

"After her daughter raised such serious allegations, we had constituted a probe team within an hour. However, we did not find anything wrong as alleged by the woman's daughter," the hospital said.

Police have started an investigation into the case.
