Coronavirus: 3 Bihar students under surveillance after returning from China

Three students from Purnia district of Bihar have been put under surveillance in Delhi and other parts of India after they returned from China. District officials have made arrangements for any medical emergency. People have also been advised to stay careful and eat healthy.

Purnia: Three students, who are studying medical science in China, have been put under observation after they returned from coronavirus affected areas of the neighboring country.

"They are being observed for any infection concerning the deadly coronavirus in different parts of the country," Madhusudan Prasad, Chief Surgeon, Sadar Hospital told ETV Bharat.

He said the three students would come back to the district only after clearance from the doctors concerned.

Prasad also appealed to the people of the district to maintain hygiene and eat healthy food.

The officer informed that a around the clock medical alert has been sounded after a high level meeting of the district officials and all possible efforts are being made to stop the virus from spreading.

"Relatives of the students have been allowed meet them with required precautions," he said.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus death toll is increasing with every passing day in China and other parts of the world. India too has almost 16,000 people under surveillance across states and union territories.
