CM Nitish Kumar does not rule out contesting LS election from Nalanda

Patna (Bihar) :Regarding the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been engaged in hectic efforts to unite the opposition at the national level. Amidst this, there is talk of Nitish Kumar contesting the Lok Sabha elections. This speculation started a day after Nalanda MP Kaushalendra Kumar had said that if CM Nitish Kumar contests from here, then I am ready to leave my seat for him.

CM Nitish Kumar can contest elections from here, there is no objection to this. When CM Nitish Kumar was asked about this, he replied in gestures. It triggered further speculation that in 2024 Nitish Kumar may contest from Nalanda. If it really happens, then the Bihar CM will be automatically in the race for the Prime Ministerial candidate from the opposition.

This came up when Nitish Kumar arrived on Sunday to inspect the six-lane bridge under construction on the river Ganga near Kachchi Dargah in Patna. Where he answered the questions of the media. On the matter of contesting elections from Nalanda Lok Sabha constituency, he said why worry about it now, will tell when the time comes. He did not rule it out. At the same time, the CM made some gestures that indicated that the issue was under consideration.

The media posed these questions to Nitish after Nalanda MP Kaushalendra Kumar had talked about Bihar CM contesting from Nalanda MP seat. Kaushalendra Kumar hinted that former JDU leader RCP Singh may contest from Nalanda. If Nitish Kumar contests from Nalanda, it will be a one-sided contest and I will give up my seat for him, Kaushalendra said.

Current Nalanda MP further said that Nitish Kumar has been the CM for 17 years. The way he has worked in Bihar, it seems that the country's opposition parties will give him a chance. That's why CM Nitish Kumar should contest the Lok Sabha elections from Nalanda, Kaushalendra added. Moreover, Nalanda is also the home district of CM Nitish, he pointed out.

On Mann Ki Baat: Nitish Kumar kept avoiding making a statement even regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. He just said that everyone has their own work, they are doing it. The Prime Minister's statements at the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat sparked political debate in Bihar as the leaders of the Grand Alliance launched a tirade against the BJP.

Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth said that 'the Prime Minister did not say anything for Bihar in Mann Ki Baat'. On the other hand, Congress State President Akhilesh Singh also said, 'Those who should listen to the mind of the people, they are talking about their mind'. CM Nitish Kumar said that 'everyone has their own work, let them do it'.
