Chhath Puja ends after devotees offer 'Araghya' to rising sun

Devotees on Friday took a dip in Ganga river in Bihar to mark the end of the four-day long Chhath festival. Elaborate security arrangements were made at the ghats to avert any untoward incident.

Patna: The four-day Hindu festival, Chhath Puja, ended on Friday morning with devotees offering 'Araghya' to the rising sun.

Devotees took a dip in Ganga river and other water bodies across the state and prayed to the Sun God for divine blessings.

Elaborate security arrangements were made at the ghats to prevent any untoward incident.

The district administration has set up changing rooms, CCTVs and toilets at all the ghats for devotees.

About Chhath Puja

The Chhath puja celebrated during summer is known as 'Chaiti Chhath' and is observed for four days like 'Kartika Chhath'.
