CBI hands clean chit to Lalu Yadav in DLF bribery case

The Central Investigation Bureau has given a clean chit to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, in the DLF bribery case, the sources said. He has been out on bail since April due to health complications after spending three years in jail.

Patna (Bihar): The Central Investigation Bureau has given a clean chit to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, in the DLF bribery case, the sources said. He has been out on bail since April due to health complications after spending three years in jail.

In 2018, CBI had initiated a preliminary probe for corruption against him and real estate developer DLF group.

It was alleged that in 2007, AB Exports, an alleged shell company, had bought a property in the capital's New Friends Colony for nearly 5 crore rupees, while it was claimed that its actual circle rate was 30 crore rupees at that time. This property was allegedly funded by DLF group.

According to the reports, in 2011 Lalu's Tejashwi Yadav and daughter Chanda Yadav and Ragini Yadav had bought over AB exports with a mere amount of 4 lakh rupees. It was alleged that DLF had bribed Lalu through AB exports in order to get the rail land lease project in Mumbai's Bandra and New Delhi Railway Station up-gradation project.
