Muzaffarpur:As pollution has reduced during lockdown the butterfly numbers have shot up in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. The good weather has cheered up the butterflies as there is a drop in pollution level.
Butterflies are back amid lockdown After years butterflies are looming in the Litchi orchard of the region.
The butterflies are back and people are thrilled to see this rare moment.
Though people are facing trouble as transportation is suspended and malls, tourist places are closed due to lockdown.
However, this is beneficial as 15 species of this brightly coloured flyers can be seen looming litchi plantation area.
More than 2000 species of butterflies were found around the world in which around 200 species have become extinct due to climatic change.
Zoologists believe that it is a sign of a clean environment and butterflies don’t migrate to places where they find any trouble.
The life cycle of a butterfly is only for 40 to 45 days, but they lay so many eggs during their life that the population continues to multiply.
Butterflies are very sensitive to the environment and can sense mild changes in it. Perhaps this is the reason why amidst the diminishing pollution, the butterflies have also returned.
