Brokers dupe patients in Bihar's largest hospital PMCH

Patients at Bihar's largest hospital, Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), are being duped by brokers. Patients particularly coming from rural areas are being targeted by the brokers.

Patna (Bihar):The free-flow of brokers within the premises of Bihar's largest hospital, Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), has increased once again.

Brokers are targeting patients coming from the villages to the PMCH.

One such case was found on Thursday where a patient living in ​​Akilpur area of Danapur, had come for the treatment of his child, but almost fell prey to the brokers.

A broker was trying to dupe him of Rs ten thousand on the pretext of buying medicines for his child. However, on seeing some locals, the broker sensed that he will not be able to succeed. He then escaped from the spot.

"We paid him Rs 4,500 but the broker purchased medicines worth only Rs 3,500," said a family member of the patient.

As soon as the PMCH police station in-charge got the information, he reached the spot and registered a written complaint.

The station in-charge said, "We will go through the CCTV footage and then take action accordingly."

In spite of the rising number of brokers in the PMCH, the hospital administration has not yet taken any strong step to curb the menace.
