BJP leader in Bihar adorns Gandhiji with a face mask not to create awareness on COVID-19 but to protect his thoughts from anti-CAA protesters. It is bizarre and BJP has outdone BJP yet again.

Buxar: As India fights COVID-19 pandemic with travel advisories and restrictions on senior citizens and children, BJP leaders in Buxar, Bihar have adorned a face mask on the status of Mahatma Gandhi in a bid to protect it from a certain form of infection, which is unrelated to coronavirus.

The philosophical concern shown by the Bihar BJP is not to create an awareness on the rapid spread of novel coronavirus. BJP leader Pradeep Dubey claims that face mask is to protect Gandhian thoughts from being infected by anti-CAA protesters !

Well it is as bizarre as it sounds and after the infamous cow urine party to ward off a deadly virus, a face mask to prevent infections into Gandhian thoughts by anti-CAA protesters has to make sense, if the foundation of logic is kept aside.

On Thursday, several BJP workers including Pradeep Dubey washed the statue with water from the Ganges and adorned a mask on Gandhi's face.

"Anti-CAA protesters at Shaheen Bagh and other parts of India are infecting the thoughts of Gandhi. In order to protect those thoughts from Congress, BSP and other parties, who organise protest under similar Gandhi statues, we thought of providing a face mask," Dubey said.

India has reported its 4th coronavirus death today with total numbers of infected climbing to 173.

COVID-19 cases in India climbed to 169 on Thursday after fresh cases were reported, including from Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh, while most of the states and UT's imposed restrictions, inching towards partial shutdown in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus, which has claimed four lives in the country.
