Bihar police on alert after killing of four Maoists

The Bihar police headquarters have alerted IG, DIG , SPs after the killing of four Maoists in by security personnel in Bihar's West Champaran district.

Patna: The state police headquarters has directed senior police officials in Bihar to stay alert after facing backlash from the CPI-Maoists over the killing of their active members.

The IG, DIG including SPs of zone have been alerted to keep a close watch on Maoists movements operating in their jurisdiction.

Reportedly, an order has been given to deploy special police force in the areas which are considered to be hot-bed of Maoists activity.

Earlier, on 10 July four alleged Maoists were killed by security personnel in Bihar's West Champaran district, close to the India-Nepal border, in an operation that also led to the recovery of sophisticated weapons from a hideout.

The Maoist group was led by Ram Babu Sahni alias Rajan, who fled the scene, though his deputy ''Bipul'' besides three others were killed in the encounter.

Naxals struck at a village where they killed two persons by slitting their throats in Munger district of Bihar on July 10.
