Bihar: Man lathicharged for creating ruckus outside polling booth

A youth was lathicharghed by police for creating nuisance outside a polling booth in Bihar's Hajipur on Monday. Later, the youth fled from the spot.

Vaishali: The police lathicharghed a man for creating nuisance outside a polling booth in Bihar's Hajipur on Monday.

The incident took place outside Basawan Singh indoor stadium where peaceful elections were going on since morning.

Later, the youth fled from the spot.

Earlier, the police had made tight arrangements against those spreading ruckus during the polling hours. Apart from paramilitary forces, additional teams of police force were deployed in every booth for smooth conduct of polls.

The voting is underway in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur and Saran parliamentary constituencies.

More than 87 lakh voters would decide the fate of 82 candidates.
