Bihar govt will collapse soon, claims AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar

All India Congress Committee general secretary Tariq Anwar said that there is an internal rift among the party leaders in JD(U) and claimed that several leaders would join the grand alliance. He claimed that the incumbent government would collapse as the leaders are fed up with the working style of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

New Delhi:All India Congress Committee general secretary Tariq Anwar, on Friday, has claimed that there would be a major crackdown in the Janata Dal (United) and claimed that a large number of leader would join the grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan). He claimed that the incumbent government would collapse as the leaders are eagerly waiting to join the grand alliance.

The statement from Anwar came after a stalwart leader from JD(U) claimed that there are 15 to 19 leaders of Mahagathbandhan who are willing to join the BJP-JD(U) alliance in the state. While speaking to ETV Bharat, Anwar claimed that the BJP is working as an authoritarian in the alliance. They are not letting the JD(U) MLAs work freely, creating internal rifts in the party.

Further, he claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has failed to deal with the second wave of the covid pandemic which leads to the death of more than 9,000 people in the state. "They failed to tackle the second wave of the pandemic which ultimately leads to a major rift among the party leaders. The leaders want to join the Mahagathbandhan," said Anwar.

Recently, five out of six MPs of LJP led rebellion against party chief Chirag Paswan. Since then, the political spectrum in Bihar is witnessing major turbulence. On Sunday, Paras, the younger brother of LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan along with five other MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and handed over a letter to him seeking removal of Chirag Paswan as party chief and as the Lok Sabha Parliamentary party leader.

Om Birla accepted Paras as the floor leader of the LJP in the lower house. In a revised list of floor leaders of parties on Monday Paras was listed as the Lok Sabha LJP leader. LJP was formed by former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan in 2000. Paswan, a heavyweight leader in Bihar politics, passed away in October 2020.
