Sumant Kumar, a farmer of Darveshpura village in Katrisarai block of Nalanda district, who holds a world record of growing an astonishing 22.4 tonnes of rice on one hectare of land without herbicides became the first member of newly formed ‘Plurals’ party.

Nalanda:Days after the announcement of formation of her political party ‘Plurals’, daughter of Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Binod Choudhary, Pushpam Priya Choudhary launched the party's membership campaign in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home district Nalanda on Saturday.

With Sumant Kumar, a farmer of Darveshpura village in Katrisarai block of Nalanda district became the first member of her party, Chaudhary appealed to people of Bihar to focus on climbing the ladder and letting her deal with the snakes.

In a special conversation with ETV Bharat Kumar said, " She insisted me to join the party and informed me about it. Pushpam Ji also told me that she is the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar from Plural's party. I have accepted her proposal and now let's see what happens."

"I know her for the past six months when she was not into politics. Earlier, she has asked me about how the farmers can be empowered so that they can add to the development of the nation and what problems farmer's face," said Kumar, who holds a world record of growing an astonishing 22.4 tonnes of rice on one hectare of land without herbicides.

Stating that there are many more party events lined up in the upcoming days, Kumar said, "I have been asked to report to Patna to discuss the further planning of the party."
