Bihar: 15-yr-old raped in Muzaffarpur, 1 held

A 15-year-old ninth standard student was raped by two youths in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. Police have arrested one accused while a hunt is on to nab the other one.

Muzaffarpur: Police in Bihar on Wednesday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a minor girl at Gaighat of Beniabad OP area in Muzaffarpur while a search operation to nab another absconding accused is underway.

The incident took place when the 15-year-old victim went to the litchi plantation to defecate.

The two youths, identified as Virendra Mahato and Ranjan Kumar, thrashed her brutally and forcefully gang-raped her.

The victim was rushed to the SKMCH medical college hospital in an unconscious state.

Police have recorded her statement and a case has been registered under the POCSO Act.

Outraged family members caught Ranjan Kumar with the help of villagers and handed him over to the police after beating him fiercely.
