A strange village in Bihar where bats are worshipped

All over the world people are considering bats as the real reason for the spread of coronavirus, but you must be surprised that there is a special village in Bihar where people not only worship bats but they think that the bats protect them.

Supaul (Bihar):The worldwide pandemic coronavirus has created an atmosphere of fear. So far more than 400 people have died due to this disease all over India, while the number of infected has reached more than 12,000.

People are considering bats as the real reason for the spread of this disease, but you must be surprised to know that there is a village in Bihar where people worship bats. They believe that these bats protect them from epidemics. Bats living here in lakhs are considered by people to be divine forms.

The name of this village is Laharnia, which falls in the Triveniganj block of Supaul district of Bihar. The people here consider bats as 'village deities' and worship them. They consider them a symbol of prosperity.

The people of Laharnia village also believe that bats living here protect their entire village and do not let any kind of misfortune come upon them. They even protect them from any kind of epidemic.

You will be surprised to know that before doing any auspicious work in the village, people worship bats so that everything can be done correctly.

"In this 50-acre garden, trees have been specially planted for bats. We do not have any fear of getting corona from these bats. These bats are auspicious for us. Even during the devastating flood of Kosi that came in 2008, this area was saved from drowning," said Pradhuman Singh, the zamindar of the village.

Speaking to ETV Bharat on phone, Supaul DM Mahendra Kumar said that till now the effect of COVID in some way in the human body through bats has not been confirmed but the district administration will make the people aware of the problem there and if anyone develops symptoms there then further action will be taken.
