50,000 Women pledge to vote in the upcoming elections

District Collector Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal organised an awareness programme - 'No Voter Should Be Left', was supported by more than 50,000 as they took pledge to vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Aurangabad (Bihar): An awareness programme - 'No Voter Should Be Left', organised by the district administration, here, recieved unprecedented support from women, as more than 50,000 of them pledged to vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

For the past several weeks, district administration officials, under the guidance of the District Election Officer, have been organising awareness and orientation programmes for the voters, gearing up for the 2019 elections.

District Collector Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal remarked that the campaign was aimed at 'ethics and morality of voting', further asserting that the programmes were organised in all the blocks.

"It was during the programme that more than 50,000 woman have sworn to cast their vote in the upcoming elections. It is probably a record, as women in huge numbers have vowed to vote," he added.

The officials also said that the initiative would be considered for the 'Limca Book of World Records', and would be signed by more than two and a half lakh women.

To make this campign fruitful, Mahiwal took help from Education, Health, ICDS, Agriculture and other departments of the government.

Mahiwal also added that special arrangements would be made to enable the disabled persons to cast their vote via special teams at block, panchayat and booth levels.
