214 'fake' teachers suspended in Rohtas

214 teachers with fake degrees were suspended recently in Rohtas. The District Education Officer has, in the meantime, demanded an inquiry into the appointment of 30 teachers in Rohtas over fake degrees.

Rohtas (Bihar): Teachers holding fake degrees were suspended from Rohtas recently. About 214 people were teaching at many High Schools in the district when they were suspended. This poses a serious question over the quality of education in the state.

An inquiry was demanded by the District Education Officer over 30 fake teachers appointed in the district.

It is alleged that these teachers acquired fake BA degrees and taught students with no valid qualification and experience.

The fake teachers showed their graduation institute as Jharkhand's University of Technology and Science.

According to the District Education Officer, Premchand, there are many teachers with fake degrees and an investigation in the matter is underway.
