Tripura: Minor abducted on Sunday yet to be traced; family accused police of inaction

A minor who was abducted on Sunday in Kalapani village of Tripura’s Sepahijala district has not been traced yet.

Agartala: Tripura police have not yet traced the minor who was kidnapped on Sunday in Kalapani village in Sonamura Sub-division of Tripura’s Sepahijala district. .

The victim's family alleged that a panchayat member, Atiqul Islam, wanted to get his son married to the minor girl but after the minor's family refused, the panchayat member along with his relatives allegedly kidnapped the minor. The family of the victim on the other hand claimed that the police have not taken any action yet even after they informed them about the suspected accused.

According to the victim's father, the victim was heading to her tuition on Sunday at around 6:30 am when she was abducted. The girl's family said that they were being harassed for the last three months and the police did not take any action even after they filed a complaint at the Sinamura police station. A police official said they are investigating the matter.
