Guwahati: After the publication of the final NRC, almost 1500 names are missing from the list who are resident of Pub-Maloibari near Guwahati.
Story of people excluded from NRC list The people submitted their valid documents but still, they couldn't make it to the list and they allege that there is a conspiracy behind the exclusion of Hindu names, as all of them are Hindus.
The same incident happened with the people of Lumding constituency, as around 40% of the indigenous people's names were excluded from the final NRC list.
These names include the Garo, Koch, Dalu, Hajong, and Hindu Bengali population. All these people came to Assam after 1964 communal violence in East Pakistan.
They were given shelter at the refugee camps in Goalpara district. After 1967, around 1414 families were given lands and housing as per the government rules and regulations.
In Rangia, almost 3000 names were excluded from the NRC list. These people belong from Khandikar, Kaurbaha, Chenimara, Bihapara, Dhepargaon, Dalangghat, and Chira khundi village and possess all the valid documents and papers.
