Baksa: On the first anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, a statue of martyred CRPF trooper Maneswar Basumatary was unveiled at his native village in Assam's Baksa district on Friday.
The statue was unveiled by Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary at Basumatary's native Kalbari village near Tamulpur.
Statue of Pulwama martyr Maneswar Basamatary was unveiled in Assam, on Friday. Family members, local people and CRPF officials paid tribute to Basumatary, who was martyred in the Pulwama terror attack along with 39 other CRPF personnel on February 14, 2019.
Elaborate Bathou rituals were conducted to pay homage to the martyr.

On February 14, 2019, a 'Fidayeen' bomber belonging to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a bus carrying CRPF troopers in Pulwama district on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. 40 jawans were martyred in the attack.
Earlier today, a solemn ceremony was held at Jammu and Kashmir's Lethpora to remember the martyred CRPF jawans. Senior officers and jawans commemorated their martyred colleagues with moist eyes and paid floral tributes to them.
A memorial wall dedicated to the fallen jawans was also inaugurated, apart from a blood donation camp on the spot.
