Operation Vijay: Capt Jintu Gogoi honoured by family, locals in Assam

Captain Jintu Gogoi's martyrdom was remembered on the 20th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday, as locals in Assam's Golaghat gathered to pay tribute to the martyred soul.

Guwahati: Another braveheart, Captain Jintu Gogoi's martyrdom was remembered on the 20th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday.

Capt Gogoi's family members, along with his relatives in Assam's Golaghat gathered today to pay tribute for his sacrifice during the Kargil war.

Injured while performing his task, Gogoi succumbed later. He was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra.

In a conversation with ETV Bharat, Gogoi's father said that he is proud of his son's achievements.

Jasingpha Women Association paid tribute to the martyr.
