Kaliabar (Assam):In an interesting incident, goodhearted thieves apologised to the house owners after robbing them. The incident took place at Kaliabar in Assam's Nagaon district where a thief or group of thieves burgled into the house of a retired teacher and looted cash, a television set and costly brass utensils.
However, after the loot the thieves wrote "I am sorry" on a white paper and pinned it to one of the walls the house.
"The thieves burgled into the house but they did not enter the temple just outside the house and did not touch any valuables which were there in the temple," said Sailendra Prasad Dal Baruah, the house owner.
He said that the thieves had taken cash, the television set and other valuables from the house. They had also entered the kitchen and eaten food and fruits kept there. However, there is no sign that they had entered the temple located just outside the house," he said.
