Forced to live in cramped spaces and not much to eat, this Eid did not bring as much joy for the flood relief camp inmates.

"Most of the relief camps have been set up within schools, and the schools have been closed for due to floods. But, we have heard that the schools will reopen on 15th, where will these people go after the school reopens?, " asked a resident of Nagaon district.

He added, "It's Eid, today, we feel bad thinking how they must be feeling as they have not been able to celebrate the festival with their near and dear ones."

Some of the worst affected districts include Darrang, Barpeta, Chirang, Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, Jorhat and Cachar.

A total crop area of 16,221 hectares is still reeling under floodwater.
