KMSS lauds Tez Hazarika's decision over Bharat Ratna

New Delhi: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti president Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday said that it was a very good gesture from Tez Hazarika who turns down the Bharat Ratna Award.

The Kriahak Mukti Sangram Samity president Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday said that it was a very good gesture from Tez Hazarika who turns down the Bharat Ratna Award.

"We welcome the decision of Tez Hazarika who opposed the Citizenship amendment bill. And turning down the Bharat Ratna Award is a big decision, " said Gogoi.

On Monday, Tez Hazarika, son of music mastro late Dr Bhupen Hazarika said that "at thisnpoibt of time he can't receive the Award when people of Assam have been fighting against the citizenship amendment bill."

Tez Hazarika is currently based in United States.
