New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) new MP from Guwahati Queen Ojha on Thursday said that she would strive to ensure a safe environment for women coming from Northeast to different metros, including Delhi.
Her statement assumes significance following the fact that a number of incidents regarding women atrocities are being reported across different metros.
Queen Ojha, the newly elected BJP MP from Guwahati, Assam talking with ETV Bharat "I will definitely try to work for the safety of our women and girls. The point is that we need to seriously look that the administration works well," said Ojha.
The BJP MP from prestigious Guwahati Lok Sabha seat in Assam has defeated her Congress rival Bobeeta Sharma in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
"People of Guwahati have sent me to Parliament. I will look into their grievances. There are 10 Assembly constituencies in Guwahati, I will seriously work for the betterment of the people in every constituency," said Ojha.
The newly elected BJP MP had come to Delhi to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
