Gold bars seized from passenger at Guwahati Airport

A passenger who was travelling to Mumbai from Guwahati has been booked for smuggling gold bars weighing about 498 gms at Guwahati Airport.

Guwahati:CISF personnel seized three gold bars weighing about 498 gms from a passenger concealed in a body cavity at Guwahati Airport.

The passenger was identified as Mr. Vicky Shamlal Dodeja, the residence of Maharashtra, bound for Mumbai from Guwahati.

On enquiry, he could not produce any valid document to carry such gold bars the release said.

CISF has handed over the passenger and the seized gold bars weighing about 498 gms worth approximately INR 25 lakh to Custom Officials for legal action.
