Agartala: In a series of operations carried out in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, BSF(Border Security Force) officials seized contraband and other smuggling goods worth Rs 14.38 lakh.
The anti-smuggling raids were conducted in separate areas of India-Bangladesh borders under the Sepahijala district of Tripura, officials said.
"Border men foiled the smuggling bids and successfully seized 25 cattle, 16 Kgs ganja, 25 bottles of banned Phensedyl, a total of 38 smartphones, two motorcycles and various contraband items having a combined value of Rs. 14,38,772 during different operations," a BSF official.
Acting on reliable intelligence input, BSF troops of BOP Kullubari, along with personnel from the Sonamura police station seized 38 mobile phones worth Rs 8,10,962.
