New Delhi:Being aware of the fact that an ongoing economic blockade called by different organizations in Assam along the national highway 306 has created a massive crisis in Mizoram, the Bar Council of North-eastern States has appealed to authorities on either side to ensure the withdrawal of restrictions so that supply of essential goods between the two States resumes.
Following the July 26 border clash between Assam and Mizoram, restrictions have been imposed by local organisations on the Assam side and restricted entry of goods carrying vehicles inside Mizoram. It may be mentioned here that 306 is the lifeline for Mizoram as it connects the hilly state with the rest of India.
The Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim has appealed to the authorities concerned to carry forward the peace talks between both governments in a conducive manner so that the differences could be reconciled amicably.
The Bar Council has further called upon the authorities concerned to ensure that there is no restriction on the movement of essential goods between the two states.
