Assam Rifles carry out cleanliness drive at Aizawl city centre

In a bid to encourage residents to keep Aizawl City clean and green, Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles and volunteers of Clean Aizawl City organised a cleanliness drive.

Aizawl: To encourage all residents for keeping Aizawl City clean and green, a cleanliness drive was organised by the 46 Battalion of Assam Rifles at the city centre on Thursday.

This drive was aimed at influencing all residents to join hands for making Aizawl the cleanest city in the state and the country. The subject drive was carried out with active participation of NGO- Clean Aizawl.

Under this programme, Jawans from 46 Battalion of Assam Rifles and Volunteers of Clean Aizawl City gave their time and efforts for cleaning the surroundings.

The joint team of both the organisations swept the entire V Thanga Street and removed all unwanted outgrowths from the retaining walls and water drainage lines.

The subject drive is not only an effort to clean the surroundings but was also an endeavour to motivate and encourage the general public to keep their surroundings clean and litter-free.
