New Delhi:The Assam government has enacted a law on cow slaughter in the state. This will now lead to a ban on cow slaughter or selling of beef in the Hindu dominated areas in the state. However, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said that the Assam government should have imposed a complete ban on cow slaughter in the state.
On Tuesday, VHP's Union General Secretary Surendra Jain issued a statement saying that the VHP welcomes the law brought by the Assam government, but the state government has not imposed a complete ban. He expects a complete ban on cow slaughter in Assam. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad sees this law as a start. Surendra Jain has expressed the hope that the loopholes which are left in the law will be plugged in the coming days.
