Assam: AJYPCP protests against CAB; members arrested

Members of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad in Assam protested against CAB in front of the state CM on Sunday. Along with shouting slogans at him, they also showed black flags to the CM. Several members of the Parishad have been arrested by police.

Assam:Anger continues to build among the people of Assam over the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The members of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on Sunday protested before Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal, showing him black flags at Kaliabor.

The incident took place while the CM was on his way to participate in an event in Kaliabor town, accompanied by state Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Protests continue in Assam over the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Police have arrested three AJYCP members, Pradip Laskar, Jahirat Hussain and Chandan Saikia for their involvement in the protest.

A similar incident took place in Golaghat area on the same day. Members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) surrounded Minister Atul Bora's house and shouted 'Go Back' slogan at him.

Police have already arrested 13 members of KMSS.
