New Delhi:More than two weeks after the publication of final National Register of Citizen (NRC) list, Assam Public Works (APW) has decided to file a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking 100 percent re-verification of the NRC.

Alleging that name of 'Jehadis' have also been included in the final NRC, APW president Abhijit Sharma on Tuesday said, "We will seek 100 percent re-verification of the NRC. There were so many anomalies in the lists."

"The indigenous people of Assam now need to stand in queues alongside the 'illegal immigrants' to prove their nationality," said Sharma.

APW is a non governmental organisation and a petition demanding NRC in Assam was first filled in the apex court by this organisation.

In fact, the final NRC list has generated widespread reactions from cross sections of the society with many people claiming that genuine Indian citizens have been left out from the final NRC.

"We also want that Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate the expenditure of Rs 1600 crore in the entire process. There are names of 'Jehadis' too in the NRC list, so we want that NIA should investigate the matter and the entire process should be monitored by CBI," said Sharma.

The NRC process was carried out in Assam to detect the illegal foreigners.
