Amritpal Singh brought to Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam Dibrugarh(Assam):Waris De Punjab chief Amritpal Singh was shifted to the Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam. He was taken to the Dibrugarh jail in a security convoy of the Assam police. Security was beefed up at the jail on the arrival of Amritpal. CRPF forces were also deployed at the jail as well.
The aircraft carrying the arrested Amritpal landed at the Dibrugarh airport on Sunday afternoon. He was then taken to the central jail located in Upper Assam town. He was arrested by the Punjab police from the Moga district in Punjab around 6.45 am today morning. His flight landed at 2:20 pm.
Amritpal was absconding since March 18, the day the Punjab police launched a massive man-hunt for him. The Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh's other associates are also lodged at Dibrugarh jail. Papalpreet Singh a close aide of the fugitive Khalistan leader was brought to Assam's Dibrugarh Central Jail on April 11 after he was arrested.

Altogether, nine of his associates have been lodged at the Dibrugarh Central Jail. Security in and around the jail premises has been beefed up since March 19, when four members of the Waris Punjab De' (WPD) were brought here in the first batch. According to sources, Amritpal will be interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) in the Dibrugarh Jail. It may be recalled that two days ago a five-member team of Punjab police reached the Dibrugarh jail and inspected the situation and interrogated nine Khalistan supporters. (With Agency Inputs)
