Lone campaigner in spotlight ahead of Assam BTC polls

As the election for the Bodoland Territorial Council comes closer, all political parties are campaigning in a big way. Yet, an independent candidate from the Baganpara constituency, Diju Boro has been campaigning alone to convince the voters to vote for him for a change.

Baganpara (Assam): With the elections to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) due, all candidates of political parties have stepped up their activities and campaigns to woo voters. Every day the candidates of different political parties are holding public rallies. Be it the BJP, the Congress, the Bodoland Peoples' Front (BPF), United Peoples Party Liberal (UPPL) all have been taking out rallies involving flashy cars, large vehicles, motorcycles and etc to woo the voters.

However, amid the flashy campaigns, there is one candidate who had been doing it all by himself. Independent candidate from the Baganpara constituency, Diju Boro has been campaigning alone to convince the voters to vote for him for a change. Riding on his bicycle, Boro has launched a door to door campaign to garner votes for him. Boro has also been posturing alone to convince the voters to vote for him.

Diju Boro said, "I am doing it alone. I was sick till a few days back. My friends also could not come due to some problem. So I am going house to house on my cycle to seek the blessings from the electorate."

Boro has been trying to make the people aware of the corruptions of the leaders and political parties. The lone campaigner Boro has, however, drawn the attention of different sections of people ahead of the BTC polls.
