Militants killed in firefight in Assam

At least six militants from the Dimasa National Liberation Army were killed in a gun battle with security personnel at Dhansiri area on the Assam-Nagaland border.

Diphu: At least six Dimasa National Liberation Army militants were gunned down by security forces in an exchange of fire in Assam.

The firefight broke out at the Dhansiri area on the Assam-Nagaland border.

The encounter was led by Additional SP of Karbianglong District, Prakash Sonowal.

AK-47 rifles, pistols and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered at the encounter site.

On Wednesday, a man identified as Sanjay Ronghang was killed by unidentified gunmen before police launched a hunt for militants along the border areas.
