5 bomb-like objects found in Assam's Kamrup

While investigating a case, Assam police recovered five bomb-like objects while they were on their way to the residence of the accused in Kamrup district. The objects are believed to be hand-made bombs which were later diffused and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory.

Rangia (Assam): The Assam Police on Wednesday recovered five bomb-like objects from Panikhaiti area in Kamrup district.

Kamrup, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sanjib Saikia told reporters that the five bomb-like objects were found at Panikhaiti near Chhaygaon police station.

"A team of Chhaygaon police station led by the OC went to Panikhaiti for investigation of a case. On way to the residence of the accused, the police team recovered the objects," he said.

"The police will be able to confirm about the objects only after getting the test report from the Forensic Science Laboratory," the ASP added.

According to the preliminary investigation, police believes that they were hand-made bombs which were later diffused.
