"We will fight till the last hour of our tenure to fulfil the promises made by us as was indicated by our party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, " said Kumar.

Kumar who has been elected as a Member of Parliament from the Kurnool Lok Sabha seat of Andhra Pradesh in the recently concluded general election had arrived in New Delhi to take oath along with other MP's on the first day of the 17th Lok Sabha.

In continuity with their poll promise of fairly implementing the Reorganisation Act, Kumar elaborated, "we (YSRCP) are determined to get a fair deal out of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 for the state, and we will take up the issue at the highest level if necessary."

After the two Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were bifurcated in 2014, a total of 241 government corporations, companies and institutes were to be divided between them. Most of these organizations, listed under schedule 9 (89) and schedule 10 (142) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, are located in Hyderabad or have their headquarters there.

Andhra Pradesh has been insisting on the division of schedule 9 bodies (with regard to assets and employees) on the basis of a population ratio of 58:42 (AP: Telangana), as prescribed by the AP Reorganisation Act, while the Telangana government has maintained that the employees be divided based on where they belong (nativity). The process of resolving this is still on.
